Dicky Beach Surf Life Saving Club
Established in 1950, Dicky Beach Surf Life Saving Club is a non-profit community service organisation situated just north of Caloundra on Queensland’s beautiful Sunshine Coast. The Club provides an essential emergency rescue service to beach-goers, creating a safe environment both on and around Dicky Beach.
We are the only organisation that has an actual presence on Dicky Beach and therefore the primary service provider in the event of an emergency. Our presence allows access to first aid treatment within the vital first minutes of an accident. Throughout our history, the club has held intact its vision of “Zero Preventable Deaths” within our patrol environs.
Our members are committed volunteers who give their time freely and often at risk to their own personal safety to ensure a safer, healthier community at Dicky Beach. Our volunteers are the strength of our organisation and provide the following services:
- Emergency search/rescue and medical services;
- Preventative programs to ensure beach visitors avoid danger;
- Surf safety training and education programs; and
- Junior activities and youth development programs.
We pride ourselves on our family friendly environment and our youth members are the future leaders of not only Dicky Beach Surf Life Saving Club but also our local community. Our Club motto is “Developing Lives that Save Lives.”
